Ask Delhi drivers to follow lane: Mauritius High Commissioner

Please ask Delhi drivers to drive in lanes!

This unusual suggestion came from M Choonee, High Commissioner of Mauritius to India during a meeting here today of Heads of Missions on security arrangements for Commonwealth Games due in October next year here.

"Delhi drivers are very bad. They do not drive in lanes. Please ask them to drive in lanes," Choonee said.

Some 30 Heads of Missions or their senior representatives participated in the briefing conference chaired by the Union Home Secretary G K Pillai.

A smiling Home Secretary could only say that he would try to launch a traffic campaign to discipline drivers as soon as possible.

Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal was also present at the meeting.link
